Profit booking in heavyweight sectors erased the past two gains for the equity benchmark index Nifty 50 as investors turned cautious before the release of macroeconomic data.

The index fell 0.43% today and ended at 20906.40 while it opened at 21018.55 during today’s session. Oil & gas, consumer durables, and realty stocks dragged the market most as selling pressure was high in these sectors.
